Academician-Led Initiative Takes Root at the Grassroots | The “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns” Demonstration Site Established at Jinxian County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital

On April 18, the conference room on the 13th floor of the Jinxiang County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital hosted a grand ceremony to confer the designation of “Demonstration Site for the Thousand Counties and Ten Thousand Towns Initiative” under the Academician Project’s Grassroots Outreach Program, followed by a project promotion and exchange meeting. The official establishment of the “Demonstration Site for the Thousand Counties and Ten Thousand Towns Initiative” at the Liu Liang Academician Expert Workstation at the Jinxiang County TCM Hospital marks a significant step forward in enhancing grassroots TCM service capabilities and developing a specialized department for rheumatic pain in Jinxiang County.

Attending the ceremony were Shu Dan, Deputy County Mayor of Jinxian County; Li Shaohua, Director of the County Health Commission; Fu Xinghe, a First-Level Chief Staff Member; Zhao Xiaozhong, President of the County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital; Zhao Binhuan, Vice President of the hospital; as well as relevant officials from the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation. Also in attendance were principal leaders and key physicians from Anyi County People’s Hospital (County TCM Hospital), Duchang County TCM Hospital, Dingnan County TCM Hospital, all public hospitals in Jinxian County, township (central) health centers, and community health service centers.

The meeting was chaired by Vice President Zhao Binhuan. Zeng Hui, head of the Orthopedics Department at the County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, provided a detailed introduction to rheumatology and pain. Triple Sequential Therapy The operational status of the training base and the demonstration sites under the “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns” initiative was presented, accompanied by a live screening of the project’s promotional video. He Zhiguo, Project Director of the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation, delivered a special briefing on the overall progress of the “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns” plan.

During the meeting, Li Yanping, Deputy Director of the Academician Expert Workstation of Liu Liang, signed a cooperation agreement on the implementation of the academician project at the grassroots level with Li Shaohua, Director of the County Health Commission; meanwhile, He Zhiguo, Director of Project Promotion, signed a cooperation agreement on the establishment of demonstration sites under the “Thousand Counties and Ten Thousand Towns” initiative of the academician project at the grassroots level with Zhao Xiaozhong, President of the County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.

Dean Zhao Xiaozhong, Deputy Director Li Yanping, and Director Li Shaohua delivered speeches one after another, focusing on project implementation, technology dissemination, discipline development, and the enhancement of primary-care services. They expressed shared anticipation that the academician-led initiative would serve as a vital link to channel high-quality medical resources down to the grassroots level, thereby better serving the residents of county-level areas. Following the remarks, the attending leaders jointly unveiled the plaque for the demonstration site of the “Academician Project Goes to the Grassroots—Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns Initiative.”

Following the ceremony, all attendees proceeded to the new campus of Jinxian County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital to conduct a site visit to the Academician Project’s specialized diagnosis and treatment zone, gaining an in-depth understanding of the clinical workflow, technological applications, and specialty development.

 

This initiative has facilitated the precise alignment of high-end medical resources, thereby empowering primary-care TCM professionals. Moving forward, the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation will continue to promote and apply appropriate TCM techniques, accelerate the training of TCM specialists at the grassroots level, ensure that the research achievements of academicians benefit local communities, and leverage the distinctive strengths of TCM to safeguard public health.
