On February 7, 2026, the signing and unveiling ceremony for the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation and the demonstration site of the “Academicians’ Projects to the Grassroots—Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns Initiative” was solemnly held at the Qianjiang District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. Leaders from various relevant departments of Qianjiang District, Deputy Director Li Yanping and Project Director He Zhiguo of the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation, as well as heads of sister hospitals in the southeastern Chongqing region and Qianjiang District, attended the event. The meeting was chaired by Yang Jianming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Qianjiang District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.
During the event, all participants watched the promotional video for the “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns” initiative, gaining a deeper understanding of the project’s development blueprint and its benefits to the public. He Zhiguo, Project Director of the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation, provided a detailed update on the plan’s progress and shared successful pilot cases from multiple regions, instilling confidence in the audience regarding collaborative development.
At the event, Li Yanping, Deputy Director of Academician Liu Liang’s Expert Workstation, and Chen Yonghua, Vice President of Qianjiang District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, signed the “Academician Project to the Grassroots—Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns Plan Demonstration Site Cooperation Agreement,” laying the groundwork for in-depth collaboration between the two parties. Zhang Huai, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Qianjiang District Health Commission, delivered a speech, commending the hospital’s achievements in developing TCM‑based specialties and expressing his hope that, with the establishment of this demonstration site, a regional benchmark for diagnosis and treatment could be established, thereby enhancing primary‑care service capacity across the region. Deputy Director Li Yanping stated that the workstation will systematically promote the “Rheumatism and Pain Triple‑Sequential Therapy,” leveraging technical training, mobile clinics, and mentorship to help Qianjiang build a specialized department for rheumatism and pain, ensuring that high‑quality medical resources benefit the local population.
Subsequently, Li Yanping and He Zhiguo, together with Zhang Huai, Secretary of the Qianjiang District Health Commission, and Sun Zhanghua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Qianjiang District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, jointly unveiled the plaque for the demonstration site, marking a new phase in the development of rheumatology and pain management specialties in Qianjiang District.
This collaboration will take the Qianjiang District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital as its hub, steadily advancing the development of specialized rheumatology and pain‑management clinics and the implementation of core technologies. It will establish a county‑level tiered diagnosis and treatment network for rheumatic and painful conditions, fostering coordinated development among primary healthcare institutions in southeastern Chongqing and enabling local residents to access high‑quality TCM services comparable to those provided by academicians, all while injecting strong momentum into the building of “Healthy Qianjiang.”
