On February 7, 2026, the signing and unveiling ceremony for the Liu Liang Academician Expert Workstation and the “Academician Projects to the Grassroots — Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns Initiative” Demonstration Site was held with great solemnity at the Qianjiang District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. Leaders from various relevant departments in Qianjiang District, along with Li Yanping, Deputy Director of the Liu Liang Academician Expert Workstation, He Zhiguo, Project Director, and heads of sister hospitals in the Southeast Chongqing region and Qianjiang District, attended the event. The meeting was chaired by Yang Jianming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Qianjiang District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.

During the event, all participants jointly watched the promotional video for the “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns” Initiative, gaining a deeper understanding of the project’s development blueprint and its benefits to the people. He Zhiguo, Project Director of Academician Liu Liang’s Expert Workstation, provided a detailed overview of the initiative’s progress and shared successful pilot cases from multiple regions, instilling confidence in the participants regarding collaborative development.

At the event, Li Yanping, Deputy Director of the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation, and Chen Yonghua, Vice President of Qianjiang District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, signed the “Academician Project to the Grassroots – Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns Initiative Demonstration Site Cooperation Agreement,” laying the foundation for in-depth collaboration between the two parties. Zhang Huai, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Qianjiang District Health Commission, delivered a speech, commending the district TCM hospital’s achievements in developing its distinctive TCM practices and expressing the hope that, taking the establishment of the demonstration site as an opportunity, they could build a regional benchmark for diagnosis and treatment while leveraging its influence to drive improvements in primary healthcare service capabilities. Deputy Director Li Yanping stated that the workstation would systematically promote the “Triad Sequential Therapy for Rheumatism and Pain,” using methods such as technical training and on-site clinical mentorship to help Qianjiang develop specialized departments focused on rheumatism and pain, ensuring that high‑quality medical resources benefit grassroots communities.

Subsequently, Li Yanping, He Zhiguo, together with Zhang Huai, Secretary of the Qianjiang District Health and Wellness Commission, and Sun Zhanghua, Secretary of the Party Committee of Qianjiang District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, jointly unveiled the plaque for the demonstration site, marking the entry of Qianjiang District’s specialized rheumatology and pain care program into a brand‑new phase.

This collaboration will take the Qianjiang District Central Hospital as its hub, continuously advancing the development of specialized rheumatology and pain care clinics and the implementation of core technologies. It will establish a tiered diagnosis and treatment network for rheumatic and pain conditions at the county level, driving coordinated development among primary healthcare institutions in the southeastern Chongqing region. This initiative will enable local residents to enjoy high‑quality traditional Chinese medicine services on par with those provided by academicians, right at their doorstep, and inject strong momentum into the construction of “Healthy Qianjiang.”
