Academician Program Goes to the Grassroots | The “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages Plan” Demonstration Site Established at Lankao County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine

On the morning of November 14, the signing and unveiling ceremony for the demonstration site of the Rheumatology and Pain Triple Sequential Therapy Initiative—“Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages” Plan—was solemnly held at the Lankao County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. More than 100 people attended the event, including staff from Academician Liu Liang’s Expert Workstation, Kong DeCi, a second-level researcher with the county government; Kong Dezhi, deputy director of the county Health Commission; and members of the leadership team and medical staff representatives from the county hospital of traditional Chinese medicine.
The meeting was chaired by Wang Dongfang, deputy director of the Zhongyi Hospital in Lankao County.
At the ceremony, Zhang Kaibo, Secretary of the Hospital Party Committee, extended a warm welcome to the expert team from Academician Liu Liang’s workstation. He also stated that the implementation of the “Thousand Counties and Ten Thousand Villages” project will greatly enhance the hospital’s specialized development and clinical service capabilities in related fields, and will provide strong impetus for cultivating local professional talent and strengthening the hospital’s scientific substance.
Director Tian Yuanyuan of Ward One in the Pain Department provided a detailed introduction to the operational status of the training base for the rheumatic and pain triple sequential therapy and the demonstration site for the “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages” project.
He Zhiguo, Director of Project Promotion at the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation, provided a detailed update on the progress of the “Thousand Counties and Ten Thousand Villages Plan.”
Li Yanping, Deputy Director of the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation, and Kong Dezhi, Deputy Director of the Health Commission of Lankao County, jointly signed the “Cooperation Agreement on Academician Projects Going to the Grassroots”; He Zhiguo, Project Promotion Director of the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation, and Zhang Kaibo, Secretary of the Party Committee of the hospital, jointly signed the “Cooperation Agreement on the ‘Academician Projects Going to the Grassroots—Demonstration Site for the Thousand Counties and Ten Thousand Villages Initiative’”.
In her speech, Li Yanping, Deputy Director of the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation, stated that the Rheumatology and Pain Triple-Sequential Therapy is a culmination of integrating modern medicine with the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine. After undergoing extensive clinical validation over a long period, this therapy is dedicated to being promoted in county-level medical institutions across the country, thereby establishing specialized rheumatology and pain clinics with distinctive TCM characteristics. She expressed hope that through this collaboration, the Rheumatology and Pain Triple-Sequential Therapy can be applied more widely in clinical practice, continuously enhancing the capacity of primary healthcare services in Lankao County and effectively safeguarding the health of the local residents of Lankao.
In his speech, Kong DeCi pointed out that the implementation of this project will effectively address the shortcomings in our county’s specialized diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic and pain-related conditions, enhance the county’s capacity and technical level in traditional Chinese medicine services, and enable residents to access high-level medical care at the academician level right on their doorsteps. This initiative is of great significance for improving patients’ medical experience, alleviating the financial burden of healthcare, and boosting overall health levels. He stated that Lankao County will firmly seize this cooperative opportunity, strengthen policy support and service guarantees, accelerate the establishment of a tiered prevention and treatment network for rheumatic and bone diseases at the county level, and promote the practical application and commercialization of new technologies.
Both sides jointly unveiled the demonstration site for Academician Liu Liang’s expert workstation.
The establishment of this demonstration site marks a new starting point for the development of the Zhongyi Hospital in Lankao County. The Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation will continue to leverage its strengths in technological leadership and resource integration, promoting the effective implementation of the triad sequential therapy for rheumatic and pain conditions at the grassroots level. In doing so, it will contribute to enhancing the medical experience of the public, improving the regional healthcare security system, and supporting the realization of the Healthy China initiative.
