Academician Program Goes to the Grassroots | The “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages Plan” Demonstration Site Established at Yuanshi County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine

On October 30, the unveiling ceremony for the demonstration site of the “Thousand Counties and Ten Thousand Villages Plan”—a three-step sequential therapy for rheumatology and pain management led by the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation—was solemnly held at the Second Branch Hospital (Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital) of Yuanshi County General Hospital. Attending the ceremony were Li Yanping, Deputy Director of the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation; He Zhiguo, Project Promotion Director; Qu Xiaoyan, Deputy Director of the Yuanshi County Health and Health Bureau; Zhang Ziw ei, Wang Jingguang, and Jia Jianlun, Vice Presidents of the County General Hospital; as well as over 100 participants, including heads and key physicians from 15 township health centers and medical staff from the Second Branch Hospital.
Director Gao Jiali from the Second Branch of Yuanshi County General Hospital (Chinese Medicine Hospital), Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology II, introduced the operational status of the training base for the rheumatic and pain triple sequential therapy and the demonstration site for the "Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages" project.
Mr. He Zhiguo, Project Promotion Director of the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation, provided us with a detailed introduction to the progress of the “Thousand Counties and Ten Thousand Villages Initiative.”
Mr. Li Yanping, Deputy Director of the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation, and Mr. Jia Jianlun, Vice President of Yuanshi County General Hospital, jointly signed the “Cooperation Agreement on Academician Projects at the Grassroots Level.” Mr. He Zhiguo, Project Promotion Director of the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation, and Mr. Qi Yien, Vice President of Yuanshi County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, jointly signed the “Cooperation Agreement on the ‘Academician Projects at the Grassroots Level—Demonstration Site for the ‘Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages’ Initiative.’” These agreements clearly define specific goals and implementation paths for technology promotion, talent development, and specialized department building, thereby establishing a solid institutional framework to support the subsequent work.
Mr. Li Yanping, Deputy Director of the Academician Liu Liang Expert Workstation, and Ms. Qu Xiaoyan, Deputy Director of the Health and Health Bureau of Yuanshi County, jointly unveiled the plaque for the “Academician Liu Liang Workstation Thousand-County, Ten-Thousand-Village Demonstration Site.”
Jia Jianlun, deputy director of the General Hospital, expressed his hope that this project would achieve the following outcomes: "mastering the true essence," "building strong bridges," and "creating a ripple effect to drive broader improvements," thereby comprehensively enhancing Yuan Shi County's capacity for the integrated prevention and treatment of rheumatic and pain-related diseases at the grassroots level.
Qu Xiaoyan, deputy director of the county health commission, expressed earnest hopes that the Yuanshi County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine would deeply study advanced technologies and concepts; shoulder its responsibilities, set a good example, and develop locally replicable and scalable experiences, thereby assuming the role of a regional promotion center. It should also coordinate efforts across all levels, serve the people, ensure that the benefits of these technologies quickly reach the entire county, and bring tangible benefits to the masses.
Li Yanping, the deputy director of Academician Liu Liang’s Expert Workstation, delivered a speech, expressing her hope that the demonstration project under Academician Liu Liang’s workstation—the “Thousand Counties and Ten Thousand Villages Initiative”—would take root and bear fruit in Yuanshi County, and that the base would soon be developed into an influential grassroots center for the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases and pain within the region.
Academician Liu Liang delivered a special address via video link. Focusing on the core objectives of the “Thousand Counties and Ten Thousand Villages Initiative” and the value of grassroots healthcare, he emphasized that he hopes to promote the dissemination of technology and the cultivation of talent through a collaborative partnership model, ensuring that the fruits of scientific and technological innovation truly benefit the daily lives of people at the grassroots level.
