Academician Program Goes to the Grassroots | Demonstration Site of the "Ten Thousand Towns and Counties Plan" Established at Zoni County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital

On the morning of October 18, 2025, the unveiling and signing ceremony for Academician Liu Liang's Expert Workstation—"Academician Project to Grassroots Level: Demonstration Site of the Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns Initiative"—was held at Zoni County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. This demonstration site will focus on implementing the grassroots-level application of the three-step sequential therapy for rheumatism and pain, injecting new momentum into upgrading TCM services and strengthening the construction of a primary healthcare security system in Zoni County.
Li Yanping, Deputy Director of the Workstation, and Pei Liesheng, Member of the County Party Committee Standing Committee and Vice County Governor of the County Government, unveiled the plaque for the demonstration site of the "Academician Project Goes to the Grassroots—Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages Initiative."
The workstation has signed "Cooperation Agreements" separately with the County Health Bureau and the County Central Hospital, officially launching a deep partnership.
Academician Liu Liang stated via video that the core of the "Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns Plan" is to ensure that the benefits of scientific and technological innovation reach the grassroots level. He expressed his hope that county-level hospitals would become a "high ground" for technology application, a "cradle" for talent development, and a "hub" for standardized promotion—ultimately paving the way for replicable and scalable new models in primary healthcare.
After the ceremony, the attending experts visited the academician project’s specialized medical treatment area on-site and offered suggestions on optimizing the treatment process and deepening the application of technology, thereby providing clear guidance for future work.
The establishment of the "Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns Plan Demonstration Site" at Academician Liu Liang's Expert Workstation marks a significant milestone in the development of traditional Chinese medicine at Zhuoni County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine—and will also provide robust support for upgrading primary healthcare services not only in Zhuoni County but also across surrounding regions. Academician Liu Liang's Expert Workstation will continue to leverage its technological leadership and resource integration strengths, driving the effective implementation of the integrated sequential therapy for rheumatism and pain at the grassroots level. This initiative will contribute to enhancing patients' medical experiences, elevating regional health security standards, and advancing the Healthy China strategy.
