On July 7, the on-site exchange meeting for the “Rheumatism and Pain Triple Sequential Therapy—Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns Initiative” was held in the fourth-floor conference room of the Administrative Building at Xia County People’s Hospital. This marked the official establishment of the initiative’s demonstration site at Xia County People’s Hospital, representing a solid step forward in enhancing primary healthcare service capacity in Xia County.
Huang Yuming, Executive Director of the Academician and Expert Workstation, and He Zhiguo, National Project Director for the “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns” initiative; Yang Lina, Member of the Standing Committee of the Xia County Party Committee and Deputy County Mayor; Xu Qi, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the County Health Commission, as well as Secretary of the Party Committee of the County Medical Group; Li Jianrong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the County People’s Hospital; Zhao Yanxia, the hospital’s president; together with the entire leadership team of the medical group, heads of township health centers, clinical medical staff, and a number of village doctors, all attended the event. The event was chaired by Zhao Yanxia, President of the Xia County People’s Hospital.
Yang Lina, a member of the County Party Committee’s Standing Committee and Deputy County Mayor, emphasized that the “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns” initiative is a landmark public‑health project aimed at strengthening primary‑level health services. She urged the county’s health system to align with the development strategy of “One Park, Three Zones, Two Blessed Lands,” prioritizing the rollout of this program as a key livelihood project. The goal is to establish a three‑tiered healthcare network—featuring specialized centers at the county level, core medical teams in townships, and service outlets in villages—to ensure the project takes root, flourishes, and delivers tangible results.
Li Jianrong, Party Secretary of the Xia County People’s Hospital, provided a detailed overview of the hospital’s current development status, as well as the preparations underway for establishing a training base for the rheumatology and pain triple‑sequential therapy and for designating a demonstration site under the “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns” initiative.
Project Director He Zhiguo outlined the project’s progress nationwide.
During the signing ceremony, Executive Station Director Huang Yuming and Director Xu Qi jointly signed the Cooperation Agreement on the Academician Project’s Grassroots Outreach; Director He Zhiguo and Dean Zhao Yanxia signed the Cooperation Agreement for the “Academician Project’s Grassroots Outreach—Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Townships Program Demonstration Site.”
In his address, Director Xu Qi emphasized that the implementation of the “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns” initiative in Xia County represents a significant opportunity to bring high-quality medical resources closer to the grassroots level. He expressed the hope that the County People’s Hospital will fully leverage its role as a model and leader, establish a robust training center, and extend premium diagnostic and treatment services to an even wider population.
In his address, Station Director Huang Yuming stated that the workstation will provide full support to enhance Xia County’s capacity in the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic pain, establish a regional benchmark, and help build an integrated “county–township–village” healthcare delivery system. This effort will facilitate the dissemination of high-quality medical expertise to lower-level facilities, delivering tangible convenience and robust clinical care to patients with rheumatic pain across the county.
Amid warm applause, the plaque was unveiled for the demonstration site of the “Academician Project to the Grassroots—Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Towns Initiative.”
Following the unveiling ceremony, the attending leaders conducted an on-site tour of the academician‑led project’s clinical treatment zone. Concurrently, Professor Xia Yinping, a guiding expert for the Academician Expert Workstation project, delivered a specialized lecture to the medical staff in attendance.
The official launch of the demonstration site has brought convenient, specialized medical care to pain‑management patients across the county. Taking this as an opportunity, Xia County People’s Hospital will accelerate talent development, extend its expertise to all townships and towns, and make a tangible contribution to the health and well-being of the people of Xia County.
