At the sub-forum, Station Director Wu Feichi delivered a presentation titled “Using Science and Technology to Deconstruct Traditional Chinese Medicine and Support High-Quality Development of Primary Healthcare,” highlighting the Zhengqing Fengtongning product series—developed through thirty years of in-depth collaboration between Academician Liu Liang of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Zhengqing Group—as well as the rheumatism‑and‑pain triple‑sequential therapy. This therapy integrates oral administration, targeted interventional treatment, and transdermal delivery, effectively alleviating symptoms such as joint swelling, pain, and morning stiffness while also inhibiting related inflammatory processes and pathological hyperplasia. It is currently the only TCM-based achievement in the field of anti‑rheumatic and analgesic medicine to have received the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.

The report also presents the practical outcomes of the triple‑sequential therapy in supporting the development of county‑level specialized medical consortia for rheumatic pain. Wu Feichi noted that this therapy has been included in the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s program for promoting scientific and technological achievements, characterized by proven efficacy, simple implementation, and suitability for grassroots dissemination—aligning closely with the policy direction of the “National Foundation‑Building Project” as interpreted by Professor Liang Wannian, former Director of the Institutional Reform Department of the National Health Commission. The report garnered strong endorsement from the attending experts and resonated with the subsequently shared “Faku Model” and “Xinyi Model,” together forming a vivid illustration of the national foundation‑building policy in action and effectively addressing the pressing challenges faced by primary‑care patients—namely, difficulties in accessing care and high medical costs.

This event featured a special roundtable session bringing together medical scientists from the Chao Medical Think Tank. The construction of the Eastern Guangdong Specialist Medical Consortium has taken a substantive step forward.

At the集中 signing ceremony for the second batch of collaborative projects held during the conference, Station Director Wu Feichi, on behalf of Academician Liu Liang’s Expert Workstation, signed a cooperation agreement with the People’s Hospital of Chenghai District, Shantou City (Overseas Chinese Hospital) on “Empowering Specialized Medical Consortium Development through the Triple‑Sequential Therapy.” Under the agreement, the two parties will systematically promote the “Rheumatism and Pain Triple‑Sequential Therapy” to primary‑level medical institutions in the Chaoshan region through technical training and the establishment of diagnostic and treatment centers. This marks the official implementation of the academician’s scientific and technological achievements in eastern Guangdong, which will effectively enhance the capacity of grassroots facilities to diagnose and treat rheumatic and painful conditions, benefiting a broad population of patients in the region.

It is reported that the annual conference featured the signing of 26 targeted assistance and cooperation projects, covering areas such as joint discipline development, technology transfer, talent cultivation, and grassroots capacity building. Since its establishment in 2023, the Chaozhou Medical Think Tank has facilitated more than 70 assistance initiatives and guided the development of 48 key disciplines, enabling nearly a thousand patients with acute, critical, and complex conditions to receive treatment from top-tier domestic experts right at their doorstep.
