In his address, Yao Zhen, Vice Chairman of the Hunan Provincial Association for Science and Technology, stated that Hunan is making all-out efforts to build itself into a leading province for traditional Chinese medicine and to establish a national hub for the TCM industry. The Association will take talent development, scientific and technological innovation, and collaborative innovation as key levers, leverage the roles of academicians, experts, and research platforms, promote the deep integration of TCM with modern biotechnology and artificial intelligence, strengthen coordinated research and problem-solving among industry, academia, research institutions, and end-users, and provide intellectual and technical support for the high-quality development of the entire TCM industrial chain.

In his address, Liu Liang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, pointed out that Hunan boasts abundant traditional Chinese medicine resources and a strong industrial foundation, and that high-quality, coordinated development should be advanced in four key areas: leveraging ISO international standards to lead the standardization and internationalization of TCM; harnessing scientific research innovation to enhance quality and efficiency across the entire “science–agriculture–industry–trade–medicine” value chain; deploying large-scale AI-powered TCM models at the grassroots level to address disparities in service access; and fostering regional collaboration among Hunan, Hong Kong, and Macao to establish a “Hunan Medicines Going Global” channel and promote the distinctive flavors of Hunan. The Association will support Hunan in taking standardization as its guiding principle, refining a comprehensive, end-to-end quality-control system, promoting standardized cultivation and brand development of authentic medicinal materials, deepening regional collaboration and production–sales alignment, and making all-out efforts to establish a “Hunan model” for high-quality development of the national TCM agricultural industry.

During the signing ceremony, four major key industrial projects were signed in a concentrated rollout, covering four core areas: co-building of testing platforms, full-industry-chain collaboration, financial support for industrial development, and standardized under-forest cultivation. Leaders and guests jointly witnessed the event. The successful launch of these priority projects marks a substantive breakthrough for Hunan’s traditional Chinese medicine industry in terms of government–enterprise collaboration, integration of industry and finance, and end-to-end supply-chain coordination.

This promotion event centers on fostering end-to-end synergy across the “science, agriculture, industry, trade, and healthcare” value chain, seamlessly connecting policy alignment, research-to-application translation, project implementation, and international expansion—key pillars for advancing the sector. It comprehensively showcases Hunan’s profound heritage and dynamic growth in the traditional Chinese medicine industry, highlighting the province’s unique resource advantages and robust industrial vitality. Taking this conference as a new starting point, Zhengqing Group will continue to deepen cross-chain integration, champion standardization, and leverage technological innovation, thereby fulfilling its corporate responsibility to accelerate Hunan’s transformation into a leading province for TCM and a national hub for the TCM industry.
