Recently, during the Fifth Session of the Sixth People’s Congress of Huaihua City, Long Xianjun, a deputy to the municipal People’s Congress and rotating president of Zhengqing Group, focused on the high-quality development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry, actively fulfilling his duties and offering constructive proposals, thereby injecting strong industrial momentum into Huaihua’s efforts to build itself into the “Chinese Southern Herbal Medicine Valley.”
Earlier, at the Fourth Session of the Sixth Municipal People’s Congress, Long Xianjun’s proposals on the development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry were successfully included in the Selected Collection of Deputies’ Proposals. The proposals focused on such areas as the establishment of research platforms and the comprehensive industrial-chain development of Lonicera japonica, aligning precisely with Huaihua’s industrial‑system layout and the government’s policy priorities.
At the Fifth Session of the Sixth Municipal People’s Congress, he further proposed implementing a development model featuring “Three Chains, One Park, One Port, One Forum, One Fund, and One Center,” and put forward specific recommendations in three key areas—strengthening the “Huai Liuwei” brand, building a Chinese medicine industrial park, and establishing an international land port for traditional Chinese medicine led by ISO international standards—thereby providing a practical roadmap for the development of the “Southern China Herbal Medicine Valley.”
Long Xianjun stated that Zhengqing Group will leverage research platforms such as the Hunan Provincial Innovation Center for Modern Chinese Medicine Manufacturing Process Technology to break through core technological bottlenecks, accelerate the development and market launch of new drugs, and continuously promote ISO international standards for traditional Chinese medicine. By capitalizing on the Huaihua International Land Port, the Group will facilitate the expansion of “Huai Medicine” into RCEP member markets and those along the Belt and Road, thereby translating the spirit of the conference into concrete actions and contributing Zhengqing’s strength to the high-quality development of Huaihua’s TCM industry and to building a regional hub for the trade and distribution of TCM products oriented toward ASEAN.
