Academician Program Goes to the Grassroots | The “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages Plan” Demonstration Site Settles in Jixian Medical Group People’s Hospital

On November 12, the signing ceremony for the “Academician Project Going to the Grassroots—Demonstration Site of the Thousand Counties and Ten Thousand Villages Initiative” of Academician Liu Liang’s Expert Workstation was held at the county People’s Hospital. Li Yanping, Deputy Director of Academician Liu Liang’s Expert Workstation, Yang Qiliang, Vice Chairman of the County Political Consultative Conference, and other relevant personnel from the workstation attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, the president of Jixian Medical Group introduced the hospital’s development progress; the director of the Rehabilitation Department reported on the operational status of the training base for the rheumatology and pain triple sequential therapy and the demonstration site under the “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages” initiative. Attendees jointly watched a promotional video for the “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages Plan.” He Zhiguo, Project Promotion Director of Academician Liu Liang’s Expert Workstation, presented the latest updates on the “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages Plan.” In a video link, Academician Liu Liang attended the signing ceremony and delivered a speech. He pointed out that the core of the “Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages Plan” is to ensure that the fruits of scientific and technological innovation benefit grassroots communities. He expressed his hope that Jixian People’s Hospital would become a “highland” for technology application, a “cradle” for talent cultivation, and a “hub” for standardized promotion, thus exploring new, replicable, and scalable models for grassroots healthcare.
Li Yanping stated that the implementation of the “Academician Project to the Grassroots—Demonstration Site for the ‘Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages’ Initiative” aims to put into practice the guiding principles outlined in relevant documents issued by the State Council and the National Health Commission, promote the comprehensive capacity-building of county-level hospitals, meet the demand for traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic and pain conditions at the grassroots level, and contribute to rural revitalization and the Healthy China initiative. The workstation will collaborate with Jixian People’s Hospital to popularize the research findings of Academician Liu Liang—the three-step sequential therapy for rheumatic and pain conditions—develop specialized clinics with distinctive features, and, centered on the demonstration site, train local practitioners in appropriate TCM techniques. This will enable the dissemination of green, safe, and effective therapies to township and village medical institutions, benefiting a wider population.
Yang Qiliang pointed out that the project’s establishment in Jixian County represents an important opportunity for our county to collaborate with high-end medical resources and elevate the standard of medical services. The project will introduce advanced technologies and management expertise, cultivate high-quality professional talent, and drive a qualitative leap in our county’s diagnosis and treatment capabilities for rheumatic and pain-related conditions, enabling residents to enjoy first-class domestic medical services right at their doorsteps. He urged the health and wellness authorities to strengthen organizational coordination, implementation units to enhance communication and collaboration, and all medical personnel to continuously improve their professional skills, thereby contributing to the building of a healthy Jixian County.
During the signing ceremony, Li Yanping and the County Health Commission signed the “Cooperation Agreement on Academician Projects Going to the Grassroots”; He Zhiguo and Jixian Medical Group signed the “Cooperation Agreement for the ‘Academician Projects Going to the Grassroots—Demonstration Site of the ‘Thousand Counties, Ten Thousand Villages’ Initiative’.” Li Yanping, Yang Qiliang, and others jointly unveiled the plaque for the demonstration site.
